Virginia Health Services is hiring an Operations Assistant Administrator for Northampton Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center, a Long Term Care and Rehab Center located in Hampton, VA. This is a Full Time opportunity!

The Nursing Home Administrator has the following responsibilities:

  • Coordinating admissions to the facility with local health care providers, families, and within the facility.
  • Supervising and coordinating operations department as assigned. This may include Housekeeping, Laundry, Maintenance, Dietary, Social Services, or Recreational Services.
  • Assisting in coordinating daily events within the facility from a management perspective.
  • Reviewing and approving expenditures for departments.
  • Committee Responsibilities as assigned.
  • Ensuring the facility is complying with state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Completing Quality Assurance audits as indicated.
  • Complying with all established policies and procedures.
  • Promoting and demonstrating positive customer service towards VHS, co-workers, residents, and visitors.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in health care related field preferred. Administrator in Training enrollee or 400 Hour Internship Participant is acceptable.
  • Long Term Care Administrators license in good standing with Virginia Department of Health is preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Computer knowledge is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical and legal terminology.
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret information.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff, residents, visitors, and family members.
  • While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, turn, bend, stoop, lift, push, pull, reach, talk, hear, taste, and smell.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Risk of exposure to blood borne pathogens and hazardous materials.
