Virginia Health Services is in search of a Nursing Scheduler to join our dedicated team here at the York Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center located in Yorktown, VA. This position offers Full Time with weekend availability.


The Nursing Scheduler reports to the Director of Nursing and Staffing Supervisor and is responsible for maintaining staffing levels on all nursing units.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates staffing for facility ensuring coverage for all units.
  • Maintains nursing schedules in KRONOS to ensure adequate coverage on all shifts.
  • Ensures accuracy of timecards in KRONOS for proper payroll processing
  • Verifies that all new employees meet eligibility/licensure requirements.
  • Ensures that all new employees undergo orientation process.
  • Ensures that all new employee records are completed and distributed appropriately.
  • Completes, files, and submits required paperwork to accounting timely.
  • Complies with all established policies and procedures.
  • Promotes and demonstrates positive customer service towards VHS, co-workers, residents and visitors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma/GED, Experience in Long term care preferred
  • Experience as a staffing coordinator or in a similar position preferred.
  • Ability to efficiently manage people and resources.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer knowledge required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and KRONOS preferred.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret information.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Risk of exposure to blood borne pathogens and hazardous materials.

OTHER SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Hourly (Non-exempt)
  • Not eligible for shift or weekend differential.
  • Two week notice is required for voluntary termination of employment
